Venture Expeditions
Venture Expeditions is Minnesota based nonprofit creating adventure-driven campaigns (often cycling, climbing or running), and their mission is to raise support and awareness for great injustice needs of our day. They help you benefit the world, and discover your soul.
Venture started when several students from North Central University decided to bike across America. None of them had extensive biking experience. But they were passionate about a cause: an Argentine church community in need of a building. They biked from waves of the Pacific to the sandy beaches of the Atlantic, peddling more than 3,000 miles. When they finished, they had raised more than $17,000 for the South American congregation.
Now many years, cross country tours, and hundreds of participants later: Venture partners with organizations like Jars of Clay's Blood:Water Mission (digging wells for villages in Africa without access to clean, running water) and International Justice Mission (an organization rescuing people from modern-day slavery), as well as projects in Thailand, Burma, India, China, and Indonesia. They were recently featured on CNN and at Catalyst Conference at Andy Stanley's church in Atlanta, GA.

1. Run:Free Minnesota (Minnesota Run) - June 22-July 8, 2012
Run across MN to raise funds for Venture’s Just+Hope Campaign - an initiative that connects churches in the US with the local church in areas that are high-risk of oppression and injustice.
On the journey, the team will have the opportunity to connect with churches and communities along the route, educating them about the realities of injustice facing our brothers and sisters in Asia and sharing tangible steps we can take in our own lives to bring hope and help end this horrible reality.

2. Global Team Venture (Minnesota Ride) - August 10-19, 2012
Join 24 others this August as they bicycle from Canada to Iowa, through the Minnesota’s vast iron range, sprawling forests and around its 10,000 lakes – all to raise necessary support for refugees and oppressed people in Northern Thailand.
On this tour you will join people of all cycling abilities to ride 485 miles in 10 days, stop in communities and churches across Minnesota, share about the Burmese refugee crises and encourage people to pray, give or go serve. The goals for the tour include:
- Raise $50,000 for refugees and oppressed people living in Northern Thailand
- Bike 485 miles in 10 days with 24 people
- Stop at 5 churches to raise awareness about the Burmese refugee crisis
