In His Name - Nominate a Volunteer

Minnesota communities are being transformed through the amazing service of dedicated believers from local churches. It is time to celebrate that service In His Name. 

In His Name is a new radio segment from 95.3 Praise FM and The Salvation Army. It highlights the work of individuals in the Twin Cities who joyfully serve their neighbors with humility and self-sacrifice. 

The Salvation Army has been joyfully serving in the Twin Cities for 125 years, with a mission to preach the gospel and serve human need in Christ’s name without discrimination. Fellow believers throughout the metro area have quietly been doing the same in their own neighborhoods. 

In the spirit of unity modeled in Philippians, and with the admonition of Ephesians to “spur one another on to love and good works,” our goal is to celebrate the victories of Christ in our communities.

Nominate someone you know for In His Name. Four honorees will be highlighted on-air every Friday from January to June 2011.

Nominees should be serving in the 10-county metro area. They can be a volunteer or paid staff. There is no need to renew a nomination each week; nominees will be eligible from the time the application is received until June 29.

Nominees will be judged on three criteria:
1) God is using the nominee to show His love and compassion through good works.
2) The nominee is pressing on toward a goal.
3) As Paul and Timothy were a team partnered with the Philippian church, the nominee displays a spirit of unity working with others.

Nominations will be the property of The Salvation Army and Praise FM. When nominees are selected, each nominator will be contacted and asked to provide contact information for the nominee. Nominees who are highlighted on 95.3 Praise FM will be contacted by The Salvation Army before being highlighted on the radio and on The Salvation Army website.
