Who is God? He Invites Us to Join His Story

Genesis 1
 

Who is God?
He is the One 
who created the heavens and the earth. 
And He managed to do it 
without our assistance.  
Imagine that.  
Yet He invites us to join 
His story. 

Genesis 1:1 

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 

Prayer:
In Light of Who You Are...
Father, I acknowledge from the beginning that this book, 
Your word, 
is not about me.  
This is your story.  
Guard me from trying to become the center of the story, 
and open my eyes to who you are.  
Show me what pleases and brings you glory, 
and what disappoints and breaks your heart.  
You are the beginning, 
and the one who speaks light 
and life into being.  
Speak over me and reveal my part in 
Your story.
